At the Caledonia Group, how we do things is just as important as what we do. So important, in fact, we have set it out in writing.
It enables all of us to work together, moving in the same direction in order to achieve our vision.
Our guiding principles and behaviours help everyone to reach their potential while creating a great place to work and delivering the best possible experience for our customers.
Colleague feedback is vital at Caledonia, this helps us to understand what we are doing well and how we might improve the employee experience for all of our team members. Getting this feedback helps ensure that we continue to work together to make Caledonia a great place to work, and to help us develop and thrive. To ensure anonymity we use an external organisation, Best Companies, who administer the survey and gather feedback on our behalf. We are currently ranked in the Top 25 Housing Associations to work for and in the Top 25 Best Companies, Scotland.
We are committed to EDI because we know that it helps us build the homes that people need and improve the services that we deliver to all our customers. EDI also ensures that we have an organisational culture that is based on fairness and respect. This commitment to EDI helps us deliver on our mission: to provide sustainable homes, deliver flexible services to meet the needs of all our customers, and assist in developing the vibrant communities that we all want.
We have implemented an EDI Charter which focuses on key actions in four areas; accessing our services, the homes we provide, our contractors and suppliers and our people. We have an EDI strategic group that meet regularly to set our EDI objectives. We also have an internal EDI working group, made up of colleagues from across the business, who look at how to bring these strategic objectives to life.
Our Employee group, Your Voice meet every two months to discuss a variety of topics about working with Caledonia. The meeting agenda varies each time but includes topics such as planning our All Staff Conference or discussing our learning and development calendar and mental health resources. The group are also consulted on any updates to policies and procedures and were instrumental in the implementation of our Agile for Everyone Charter. Our CEO, Julie Cosgrove regularly attends the meetings to share company updates and listen to colleagues’ views, discussions and feedback.
