A chance remark between neighbours led to the idea for a group to take
disadvantaged kids on holiday.  The Breakaway Group was formed as a result and the award-winning club has just celebrated 11 highly successful years in operation.  Those neighbours, Archie and Susan Thomson, Isobel Barr and Liz Buckley started a Committee which flourished over the years and has ensured the Breakaway Group enjoy a holiday to Flamingoland, North Yorkshire, every July.

The cost of the holidays is met through arduous fundraising throughout the
year. Cordale Housing Association has continued to support the Breakaway Group by funding the transport costs annually.  Anyone can join the Breakaway group by attending a meeting held every December.
