Giving young people a voice was the aim of Renton Youth Development Group. Already the youth involved in the project have had their say on anti-social behaviour at an open day organised by Cordale Housing Association and also reviewed the association's allocations policy.
Three members were selected to become young people's representatives on the lottery advisory panel in West Dunbartonshire. Aimed at 12 to 18 year olds in Renton and beyond, the group has already undertaken various projects on the village's history, learning along the way. It seeks to encourage team building and improve the confidence of its young people as they enter adulthood.
Young people from Renton or surrounding areas are welcome to join and can attend the group's meeting held every Thursday night in the Carrnan Centre at 7.30pm.
