A Group, which has re-established a link to the past, will ensure Renton's proud history is remembered by future generations with the opening of a heritage centre.
Renton Reminisce started as an informal group which met in the Carman Centre to share memories of the past and has now become an established history and heritage group. It consists solely of volunteers from the community and is funded by Cordale Housing Association, Awards for All and West Dunbartonshire Council.
The group is set to open the former Renton Railway Station as a history and records centre to serve as an everlasting reminder to future generations of Renton's proud past. A CD Rom and DVD containing a collection of community archive photographs has also been produced and the group has plans to restore the village's Millburn Church.
