1993 Cordale Housing Association was formed; first stock transfer of local authority properties in Renton to CHA
1994 Phase one refurbishment of 32 rented properties was completed
1995 First phase of social house building programme completed in Renton
1996 Carman Centre built with Urban Aid funding as a lunch club for over-50s
1997 Phase Two new build completed – 26 properties for rent, 3 for sale
1998 Phase Three new build completed – 53 for rent, 17 for sale
2000 Renton was chosen by Communities Scotland as a Community Planning Pilot area; the Carman Centre became a social inclusion centre and with CHA piloted the Art of Inclusion programme using the arts as a means to improve social inclusion in Renton
2000 Phase Four new build completed – 48 properties for rent, 16 for sale
2001 Phase Fivenew build completed – 45 properties for rent
2002 CHA commissioned a comic play about the Scotland’s new Housing Act which was premiered at the Carman Centre – all tenants invited and completed new tenancy agreements
2003 Cordale established two subsidiary organisations - Cordale Support Services and the commercial property company Capital (Property & Support) Enterprises Ltd
2003 Phase Six new build completed – 48 properties for rent
2004 Capital (Property & Support) Enterprises Ltd built a new supermarket in Renton replacing dilapidated shops
2004 The Cordale Group started work on a £1.3million Integrated Healthy Living Centre (IHLC) with adjoining pharmacy
2004 Renton Community Development Trust (RCDT) established to empower local people with the skills and knowledge to ensure the physical, social, economic and environmental improvements made in Renton are sustainable
2004 Grant Crescent Play Area is opened as part of the Phase Six development – the play area was designed by Coltart & Earley architects in partnership with the Wee Kindo Drama Group
2005 CHA completed £1.5million Phase Seven development in Back Street, Renton – the Association now owned 37% of properties in Renton
2006 IHLC opened - a full-time GP in Renton for the first time in 30 years
2006 Cordale bought the 30 acre brownfield site at Dalquhurn – the biggest land purchase in Scotland by a sole housing association
2007 CHA developed the Public Community Partnership model as an alternative to Public Private Partnerships
2009 40-unit Extra Care Housing development providing individual apartments plus communal living space for older people is completed
2009 CHA receives the National Regeneration Award from the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland
2010 Cordale receives Investor in People’s Gold Award – only 27th organisation in United Kingdom to achieve this level of accreditation
2010 CHA worked with Brucehill Residents Group and Central Alexandria Tenants and Residents Association appointing architects to carry out a Feasibility Study to recommend how the area can be developed
2010 CHA awarded Tenant Participation Advisory Service accreditation
2010 CHA now owns 50% of properties in Renton
2010 CHA is shortlisted to proceed to the next stage in the partial stock transfer process in West Dunbartonshire
2011 CHA awarded Positive About Disabled People Accreditation
