The Carman Centre really is at the heart of Renton.

The facility constructed in the centre of the village has become a focal point for the community and caters for everyone from birth up.

Originally built as an elderly facility by West Dunbartonshire Council, the centre is now run by and for the benefit of the community. It is used by a range of groups including the Rugrats, junior youth club, senior youth development group, breakfast and lunch clubs.  Drama, art and music classes are held in the centre as well as bingo and other social events.  The building also houses a community cafe, IT facilities, internet cafe, meeting rooms and a one- stop shop, and is open five days a week with weekend opening available for functions.

The Carman Centre manages Housing Support and Care at Home services which allow elderly people in Renton and Alexandria to remain in their own homes.
