Cordale Housing Association is hoping to continue the regeneration of Renton village centre by developing proposals for Phase 10, Main Street. The Association hopes to have a site start within this calendar year. Current proposals involve a mix of housing for rent, and housing for sale through the Scottish Housing Regulator funded Homestake scheme. Homestake properties are built specifically for those who need assistance in getting onto the property market, the government will part-fund the property acquisition allowing those purchasing the homes to apply for a mortgage that is within their means. The Association will also be creating homes for rent which should further meet the varying needs of the community.
Phase 10 will be a mix of new build and property refurbishment, an architect has already began drafting proposals and we are confident that the end result will be another ‘big plus’ for the village of Renton. Current proposals allow for the creation of 15 new homes with the potential of more being added to the development programme as it develops. As ever the Association aims to deliver ‘real value’ to the village and this development will be of no exception.
